State Compensatory Education

State Compensatory Education (SCE)

Now that the majority of Texas public school districts are required to electronically submit their district and some of their campus improvement plans to TEA, it follows that how districts use their State Compensatory Education allotments will come under even closer scrutiny for compliance. Since the Texas legislature first revised the SCE legislation almost ten years ago, TECS has been assisting its client districts in maintaining compliance in this complex and critical area of education funding.

TECS provides State Compensatory Education assistance by ensuring compliance in the following ways:

  • Ongoing technical support with a dedicated consultant, available 24/7

  • At-risk student data disaggregation

  • STAAR/EOC performance report

  • Prepare addendum to the CIPs and DIP

  • SCE needs assessment guidance

  • Provide program evaluation models based on local district criteria

  • Allowable uses of funds

  • Budget review and development, including a detailed personnel budget

  • Fiscal management

  • Program/reporting requirements

  • Provide district and campus-level training
